We treat children at all ages and stages...from babies having a check up at a few days old to teenagers struggling to be in their ever changing bodies.
A wide variety of conditions can be treated in children/teenagers and by improving the integration and mobility of their structure it can have a marked effect on the function.
As the founder of Osteopathy, Dr Andrew Taylor Still said...
''When you have adjusted the physical to its normal demands, nature supplies the remainder''
We feel it is important to have these ever changing bodies in the best balance that we can achieve for both physical and mental well-being. Which is why we recommend gentle osteopathic treatment whenever the body has been stressed. Whether that be by the physical trauma of a fall or accident, the rigours of being born or the tension that arises from the effects of stress.
Pippa was lucky enough to work for 8 years at the Osteopathic Centre for Children (OCC) in London and in private practice with Stuart Korth where a large percentage of the work was paediatric based. At the OCC she completed and then went on to coordinate the Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy (DPO).
Our Gentle Approach we use very gentle techniques in which the osteopath’s highly trained sense of touch is used to identify and correct
mechanical disturbances and limitations, both in and around the joints for the skull, and throughout the body.
Our osteopaths tend to work at the gentler end of the spectrum of osteopathic techniques especially when treating children and babies.
