Tai chi or chi gong can be thought of as moving meditation.
It is very gentle and the movement is accompanied by controlled breathing which is very grounding and settling for the nervous system. This means as well as helping the body move and increase the blood supply to the muscles, that is essential for chronic pain sufferers, it also helps to decrease the overwhelm in the nervous system and this in turn can help decrease anxiety symptoms.If you have trouble sleeping it can also be helpful to do 10 minutes before bed.

Only do what you feel you can manage, there is no more force going through the body than climbing the stairs so you won't do any tissue damage.
